Shapes Masks Mattes

What?
The main shape was made from puckering a square, and I parented a scale expression with the bass of the music to the shape and the lens flair. The outer bars are masked over the rest, and the row of dots that emerge are a repeated pattern. The changing colors were done with an adjustment layer that key framed color correction. The end shape that wraps was made by tapering circles and cloning them in the paint tool to make them concentric. Sadly I didn't know how to end the video in a way that was cool, so it kinda lacks impact.

Lesson learned: Work on pixel art in illustrator because anti-aliasing ruins everything.

Before you say yes, a little bit about me...

Jimmy Wade, aka Dr. DJ Jimmy Fresh Spinz, was known by many as a leading medically trained hip-hop purveyor of the late 1980s. His medical license and certificate to DJ were revoked in 1995 when he transplanted some beats so dope they straight blasted some fools minds.
Jimmy got his bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies (summa cum laude) from Southwestern University (Georgetown) in 2011. He always insists you mention that is was summa cum laude, because the amount of work it took to get those grades really doesn’t matter and he’s kind of bitter about it. Given how unnecessarily expensive private liberal arts college is, he also decided graduating in 3 years would be beneficial, so that he would only be in debt for his entire life, and it would not extend into future generations upon his passing. The highlight of his illustriousness undergraduate tenure was (un)ironically the semester he spent not attending his chosen school, instead studying in Beijing during the fall of 2010.
Currently, Jimmy is in his first year of graduate study at the University of Texas, working towards earning his masters in Advertising. Specifically he seeks work as an account planner or consumer researcher. He hopes to do so with a specific focus on the medium of video games. In order help fund his crippling addiction to higher education, he currently works at a small web video marketing company based in Austin, Live On Page. There he handles script writing, billing, project management, cleaning the filthy office kitchen, and the occasional filming.
When he’s not attending school, going to work, or regretting decisions, Jimmy can be found indulging in his one true passion, subscription drug fraud video games.
